Director of Music
Jason A. Wright is Director of Music of Music at All Saints Episcopal Church, a conductor of the Prep Choir of the acclaimed Savannah Children’s Choir, and the lead conductor of the Coastal Youth Choir in Bluffton.
Wright holds the DMA in choral conducting from University of South Carolina; the MM in choral conducting/vocal pedagogy and a graduate certificate in music education from UNC-Greensboro; and a BM in sacred music and organ performance from East Carolina University, where he was a student of Janette Fishell. Outside of music, he holds a graduate certificate in higher education administration from Indiana University in Bloomington.
Prior to his appointment at All Saints, he has taught on the collegiate level for ten years, in a private K-8 Episcopal School for four years, founded his own community and professional choir in NC, and has served the church (primarily Episcopal and Lutheran parishes) for over 20 years.
Dr. Brian Taylor, D.S.M., friend of the parish and Evensong organist
Brian Taylor has been an active church musician for over forty years, having served Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Episcopal and Catholic congregations in Michigan, New Jersey, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia. He holds the Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir College, the Master of Divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, the Master of Music and Master of Sacred Music degrees from Southern Methodist University and the Doctor of Sacred Music degree from the Graduate Theological Foundation where he serves as a part-time professor of sacred music. Currently he serves as Interim Organist-Choirmaster of Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Savannah, Georgia. Between 2014 and 2017 he had three associations with All Saints Church in different capacities and maintains a connection with this parish when needed.
Mr. Syd Small, in-house suborganist
Syd received a BA degree from Ursinus College in 1960. While there he held the position of Chapel Organist as well as serving as the organist at a Lutheran Church in Norristown PA. He has since been honored to serve churches as an avocation; years of service total more than 60. Syd studied organ and piano with Catharine Morgan (Univ. of Penn.). He was coached in organ by Paul Callaway, George Markey, and James Bryan.”Syd is retired from the former Bendix Aerospace (now Honeywell) in Teterboro, NJ and Utica, NY were he was Manager of Purchasing. He is also a retiree of D&E Communications (now Windstream) in Lancaster PA as Manager of Purchasing.
Michael Cole, in-house suborganist
Mike has played organ for over 40 years in various denominations, throughout the northeast, mid-west, and South Carolina. He loves hymn improvisation and all types of liturgical music. His education has been through private study and experience. Mike is a member of American Guild of Organists and is a local substitute organist when not singing in the Parish Choir at All Saints. Most recently, Mike was the organist at historic Church of the Cross in Bluffton.
